My Corley's came to TX in the 1850's from Edgefield County SC. I am searching for history of Adkin Corley married to Elizabeth, who I "think" may have died betweeen 1850 -1860 in SC.. His entire family moved to TX but Adkin was not with the family. This Adkin was not married to Deliah Duncan. There were two Adkins at that time in Edgefield county. Any hints about how I can find his death record would be appreciated. The last record I have found is the 1850 Census.

I am obviously having a problem with my numbers today ... that should read the 1860 Census ... and the daughter being age 3 and born in 1857.

I am researching several families who lived around Chester, South Carolina between 1819 and 1850 before moving on the Tipton County Tennessee. I made a discovery in the 1860 US Census that indicated that one of my ancestor families had several children, previously unmentioned.

James McLister [spelled McLeaster in the 1960 Census record] and wife Margaret are listed as having a male child, A. McLeaster, age 10 (1850) born SC ... and daughter H McLeaster, age 3, (1957) born TN.

Are there any birth records for Chester County that might help me solve my mystery? Neither A McLeaster/Mclister nor H McLeaster/McLister appear in subsequent censuses, so i will have to concentrate my other findings to Tennessee. Thanks for any assistance you can provide.. .
