Hello after many years. I thought it would be good to share more about Francis Sinnett's family here.

Janet has shared that Letitia Sinnett Liston Murphy's death record in Westford, Massachusetts, names her mother. Janet said the given name was Savannah; however, it was actually Rosannah (spelled Rossanna), and the surname was Carl. The informant was Elisha Case, her son-in-law, but his wife, her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Liston Case, was still living, so should have known her grandmother's name.

In another Massachusetts town, Letitia's sister Elizabeth died. Her death was also recorded and named her mother. In this case, the informant reported that her name was Rosannah McArdle. The record does not name the informant, but it was probably one of Elizabeth's daughters.

Each record names the women's father as Francis Sinnett.

Regarding the 1871 census of New Brunswick, which shows Francis with a wife named Hannah, it is possible that Hannah was short for Rosannah. Maybe she was really Rose Hannah and went by Hannah. Hannah would have been old enough to have had a child in 1828, even if she was born in 1810-11, so there is no need for Francis to have had two wives, though it is possible, and a large gap between children might indicate this.

The very sad thing is the Carl/ McArdle information (because it introduces more doubt and complicates the search), but with New Brunswick's spotty records, searches have turned up nothing to identify this newly found ancestor or connect her with her family. Both records are clear that she was born in Ireland.

I just have to add that Elisha Case was notoriously bad (intentionally or unintentionally) in reporting family information, and I think other family members were as well. Sometimes they were just vague. Everything has to be taken with a grain of salt and double-checked.

Yes Most of the lines in the US that I can find all start with the ones from Maine, however I don't believe my line comes from that particular tree. Our line so far starts with Francis Sinnett - born about 1801 in (possibly) St Hyacinth Quebec (which of course, was before Canada was a country). This is as far as we've gotten on this particular line, and its very puzzling. If you come across a Sinnett that you don't understand the origin of, please shoot me a message - I'd love to have a look!

Looking for information on William Sinnett (b. 1895), his father Thomas Wesley Sinnett (b. 1864) and his grandfather Michael Sennet (b. about 1833). Michael was married to Jane, but that's all I know about him. These strapping men are from Clarendon, Charlotte County, New Brunswick, Canada - Any information found on them would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
