Please check out the site at your convenience and if interested, please post any obituaries that you have.

My Shoemakers are my brick wall on my mother's side. My great  great grandfather was John C. Shoemaker born 1842 in Ohio and married Rosa Johnston 24 Nov 1861 in Columbiana County, Ohio. He left his wife and three children and I have not been able to locate where he went. His father was Joseph Shoemaker born 1820/1821 in Ohio and he died about 1901 in Holmes County, Ohio.  John and Rosa had three children: William A. born 1 Dec 1862 in Ohio, and died 18 Aug 1937 in Indiana. Ida Mae (my great grandmother) born 25 July 1865 in Ohio, died 5 Jan 1917 in Huron County, Ohio. and Elizabeth Shoemaker born 16 Aug 1868 in Ohio and died 20 March 1888 in Ohio. She married  ? Thompson (again no other information can be found on him so far).Can anyone help me? John's brother and sisters were: Frank A Shoemaker, Alice Shoemaker, Martha J. Shoemaker and Susannah A. Shoemaker. Thank you.

Does anyone have any information on an Elmer Shoemaker of West Virginia of the late 1800's early 1900's brother Elza sisters Maggie and Dorrie/Dorry? Elmers son was Wilburn Shoemaker

My Shumaker/Shoemaker/Shumacher relatives have been traced back to Germany in the 1500's. I would like to do more parallel branching out at this point, to see how many states my ancestors have covered.
Do any of you have family trees on-line that you could post the links to? Mine is:

Hello Ohio Shoemakers! I am a descendant of Simon Shoemaker, who settled in Highland County, Ohio in the early 1800's. I would love to hear from any of my Shoemaker cousins. My line is the following: Simon, Samuel, John Weaver, Jacob, Thomas, Estel, Sr., Estel, Jr., Me.

My Shoemaker family originated in Pennsylvania, but by the mid-1700's had settled in Salem county, New Jersey. From there, they migrated westward and are found in Butler Co., OH, Vigo Co., IN, Tazewell, Washington and Stephenson counties, IL, and Gage Co., NE. My Shoemakers are located in Georgia and Alabama and the spelling does vary. I have definite traces to 1850's then I have a little trouble. Maybe someone has similar ties.

Thank you for schoemaker line. My husbands lot came from Swedsboro, New jersey.,way back. there is a schoemaker book around but we dont have it There is Conrad,Edward,Benjamin etc. etc. Its all on paper and a bit of a mess.If any interest let me know Our relavent relative is Frank Dawson Schoemaker .He droped last name on arrival in Australia.

I want to thank everyone for your post to the wall and discussion forum to date. A good start, I think. I also wanted to thank everyone for posting you ancestry to the group. If I may ask, could those who posted your ancestry to the wall, re-post your info to the discussion Forum.

I ask this for two reasons:
1. Since the newest entries to the wall are listed first, your entries may be missed by new folks when they join the group (especially several months down the road.
2. If someone has a response to you posting, The replies will be listed with your posting. It's not always easy to follow a thread on the wall.

Hopefully, we will all be able to make some significant breakthroughs on our research.
