One our members has an Argus C-3 camera, a good armature camera in it's time, as was my professional 4x5 Crown Graphic. My Navy Research Lab's 12-4 watch, USNS Mizar, T-AGOR 11, compartment mate was (Mr.) Shirley Thomas of the old Virginia Shirley family. There was once an actress playing legitimate theature, New Bern, N.C., named Shirley Shirley. In Winston-Salem, I once knew a male lawyer named Carrol Weathers.

my grandfather Noah Sherley had 2 brothers that went to Arkansas and I have several cousins that live in Arkansas now. Brothers were William Frank Sherley/Shirley and Walter Sherley/Shirley. Parents were George Washington Sherley & Matilda Ruby.

I was named for a great-grandmother, Nancy Jane Shirley Montgomery. Her father's name was Jim Shirley, I think. My famiy comes from Arkansas, but I don't know if the Shirleys came from Mississippi, Tennesee or elsewhere. Just about everyone in the middle part of Arkansas came from another state sometime in the middle of the 1800s.

I am researching the Sherley/Shirley Family from Grant County, IN. My grandfather Noah Sherley, then George W. Sherley, George Benjamin Sherley.
Noah married Mary Alice Marsh Tharp.
