Comment by Cynthia L. Fregoe 5 hours ago Delete Comment My ancestor Daniel SCHWARTZ was born 29 February 1784 S. Whitehall Twp.,Lehigh Co,PA and sometime before this event his father George Michael SCHWARTZ came to this country, probably arriving at Philadelphia. It is possible that his mother was a woman named Catherine and that she arrived with George. They also lived in Lancaster Co,PA. Unfortunately,I don't know a year in which he may have arrived. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Cynthia - you may want to check LIST OF SHIPS TO PHILADELPHIA PENNSYLVANIA 1727-1808which is online. It is taken from Pennsylvania German Pioneers by Ralph B. Strassburger and William J. Hinke, published in 1934 by the Pennsylvania German Society, Norristown, PA.

Also see information on Palatines to New York and Pennsylvania Your man sounds like he might fit in this group.

Thanks very much Lorine. I did find a George SCHWARTZ who arrived 15 Oct 1766 on Cullodian. All that is listed is that he was not present and his name was written by a clerk. I have no way of knowing if he is my ancestor or not as there is no age and it doesn't state where he was from or where the ship sailed from. Should I keep looking on other ship lists?
