Thanks for the invite, Pat. I did buy the book on how to use Second Life when Borders had a 40% off! I will be back when I get caught up!

Howbert - To expand on what Jennifer said - There is a series of Online Chats that discuss various topics around genealogy. For example, We had had numerous chats on Brickwalls, on how to use various resources we might have. The topic of the meeting is on the Schedule. DearMyrtle has posted the Schedule for 11 July to 17 July 2009, in the Discussion Forum.

Some of the Chats are typing chats while others have a presenter talking to us.

Please join us.

Thank you, Myrt, for the kind invitation. Is there a schedule or calendar of events? A topic manifest? LOL I'll drop in and check it out.

Happy Dae·

Second Life (www.secondlife.com) is what I like to call a social network site on steroids. You create an avatar and can use your avatar to enter all types of different "worlds" and explore, make friends, learn, build, discuss topics with others, such as politics, sociology, philosophy, and even genealogy as I learned today.

I know what geneology is, more or less, but what is Second Life?

I didn't realize SL had a genealogist group. The next time I am signed in I will have to find this group and join. How exciting!
