I am researching the Scott family  who settled in Ohio.

Joseph Scott  b 1757 father of--

James Scott b 1799 in Franklin Co. Ohio and died 1850 in Hardin Co Ohio.

I have Scott's in Logan Co.Ohio, Van Wert Ohio, The state of Iowa.

Surnames connected are-- Reames, Jacobs,Marr,Randall, Haines,Walker,Curtis.     I'll help you if I can.    Gladys

I have something to add to my original post. Thanks to the readers of one of these forums, I now have the names of 3 probable siblings to my Spotylvania Va/Scott Ancestor (Ellen L Scott (Layton). They are Persickless Scott (Lexington KY), Montillion (Germantown TN), and Emily Ann Scott Morris (Bowling Green MO). And their mother's name was Nancy Scott. Keep those those clues coming folks! Hugh Scott (father of), Abraham Scott b. 1677 in Chester Co. P James Scott III 1800-1867 (father of), James Scott II (father of), William Eli Scott b. 1866 in PA - d. 1933 (father of), David Orville Scott (1866-1933) who is my great grandfather.

I am working on my ancestor Alexander Marr b.1749, Aberdeen, Scotland, d. 1829 He lived in New Brunswick, Canada. I would love to find out more on the Marr family in Scotland.

I am from THOMAS SCOTT in Pittsylvania Co VA 1770's pre, son JOHN SCOTT whom ma Sophira or Sophia MURRY, had SHADRACK and others. moved to Cumberland CO. KY .. Shadrack and wife HARRIET LEWIS moved to Ill with his brother then to Iowa. Henry Co where he died. He had JOHN SCOTT whom ma Rebecca MORROW both b Ky . More contact me. SusiCP@aol.com

my interest is in Madison and Estill co KY Scotts. Looking for migrating ancestor who came to KY before 1816 death date of Joseph who was b. 1748. his g son was James b.1790 father of Morton Price Scott b. 30 Sep 1826 Estill co KY.

I am researching Mary Scott c1835 who married Frederick Augustus Burgett c1828 and lived in Middlesex England. He was a famous Barrister associated with formulating precedence in English Law.
Mary's siblings were
William Scott c1831
Sarah c1837
Martha c1838
Mary's parents were William Scott and Elizabeth ???? (possibly Chantler)
I would like to know Elizabeth's surname

Am interesting in find out the parents of ELLEN L SCOTT b. about 1815 VA (possibly near Fredericksburg). She married A.S. Layton, son of John S Layton and Susannah Foster, about 1835. Then moved to Miss, Mo, and finally Marion Co, Yellville ARK. She died in 1887.
Anyone else out there connected to her?

My 6th great-grandfather was John Scott b. 1734 in PA d. 1803 in VA. Then my line continues down from his son John Wilson Scott I b. 30 May 1763 in York Co, PA d. 13 March 1847 in Dewitt Co, IL. He was a private in the Revolutionary War, serving in Captain James Dysart's company, Colonel William Campbell's regiment. His son John Wilson Scott II b. 2 Jan 1788 in IL d.18 Jan 1852 Dewitt Co, IL. His son John Wilson Scott III b.22 Jan 1815 in TN d. 11 March 1895 in Dewitt Co, IL. His daughter Mary Emmalin Scott b. 11 Aug 1855 in Dewitt Co, IL married my great-great grandfather George Peter STAGNER 22 December 1870 in Dewitt Co, IL. Mary E. SCOTT STAGNER DOOLEY (she had remarried after my great-great grandfather passed away) d. 10 Dec 1936 in Wichita Falls, TX.
