These are the main surnames of my direct lines that I am researching: NIVEN, ARBUCKLE, WALLACE, REEKIE. Connected to these main lines and going back even earlier are the following direct ancestor lines:: MOODIE, HOGG, DAVIDSON, THOMSON, NICHOLSON, WILSON, GREIG, WELLS, SMITH, CHALMERS, DALRYMPLE.

I would be very pleased to learn if anyone else has some of these same surname combinations in their tree.

Cheers, Violet

Hi

I have Niven and Moodie connections too. Shall we compare?

Hello Diane:

Thanks for responding. I descend from John Niven b.1796 Kinross-shire - d. 1855 Carnock Fife and Agnes Moodie b. 1797 Carnock - d.1875 Carnock. They were married in 1816 in Parish of Canongate, Edinburgh, where a son Robert was born in 1817. The family moved "back' to Carnock Fife., where an additional 10 children were born. Who are your Niven & Moodie connections? Perhaps we have been in touch before? Thanks again.
Violet
I have Davidson, through my Great Grandmother Margaret Davidson in Coatbridge, Lanarkshire...
Hi James:

My Marion DAVIDSON was born in Kinross-shire in 1769 & died in Dunfermline Fife in 1839. I am speculating that her parents were a James Davidson & Agnes Nicholson. A bit of a distance from your Davidson in Coatbridge Lanarkshire but you never know! Good luck with your searches!

Cheers, Violet
Thanks Violet!
