Sharon, if you're still around, which Schrock Family History book do you have?  Who was the author, and when and where was it published? I'm pretty sure it will only cover one branch of the Schrocks; isn't any one book that has all, or even the majority of the American Schrock lineages in it. Who are the earliest couple(s) it starts from?  It's always good to have a book like that -- there aren't many copies out there, so take good care of it!

Hi Tammy, no, I don't have info on them, but I would certainy like to!  Where did you find your information on them?  What towns in Germany were they from?  Usually in Europe our name has been spelled Schrag, but not always. Who were the descendents of Sebastian and Georg who settled in America? 

A large number of the Schrocks in the US are descended from three Amish Schrocks, Ulrich, Hans and Casper, who settled in the 1700s, a little before the Revolution, in Pennsylvania.  Later, in the 1800s, a few more of their relatives emigrated from the Alsace-Lorraine region where they had been living, to the Midwest.  All of these families originated in Wynigen, Switzerland, we believe. They left Switzerland due to the persecution of the Anabaptists there. Schrocks have spread from Pennsylvania to many states, of course.  My grandfather changed the spelling of our name from Schrock to Schrack.  But I know that there are some Schracks in Pennsylvania who have been using that spelling for a very long time, and who don't seem to have been part of the Amish migrations. 

What we need is for some men from those Schrack families to get their DNA tested by Family Tree DNA, and join our Schrock-Schrag-Schrack project. Then we'll be able to tell if they are the same family or a distinct one.  I wouldn't be surprised if they were different.

My mother's family, Schrack, have lived in Pennsylvania for generations.

I have the Book of "SCHROCK FAMILY HISTORY", if anyone needs info on the SCHROCK name, I would be glade to look up info for you---------
