I am researching Cyrus Cogburn (Cockburn?) born about 1783 in NC. He was living with in Rusk Co., Texas by about 1850 and most likely died there after 1850. The name of his wife is unknown. He supposedly had sons Luis, Henry, but I have nothing on them. He had a son Jackson Cogburn, born about 1817 in Washington Co., GA, died about 1900 in Hemphill, Sabine Co., Texas. He married Martha Ann Grace on 29 Jan. 1839 in Hancock Co., GA and had Elizabeth, Desdamonia, Mary Alice, Ophelia Day, and Jane Cicero.

Another son was Tomlinson Ford Cogburn who was born about 1818 in Georgia and died before 1880. Tomlinson married 31 May 1847 in Nacogdoches Co., TX to Sarah Branch. They had children ... Taylor, Laura, Millard, Trumonia or Desdamonia, Sarah and Modie. Cyrus' son Levi S. Cogburn was born 3 Oct 1812 in Washington, Wilkes co., GA and died 20 April 1866 probably in Athens, Henderson Co., TX. He married Elizabeth Wells on 14 Nov 1833 in Talbot Co., Georgia.

These Cogburns were potters and well known in their field, both in GA and TX. Cyrus also had three daughters, one of whom was Caroline E. Cogburn who married John William McAllister on 2 Sept 1848 in Talbot Co., GA.

I live in Van Zandt Co. Researching DEEN (DEAN), PARKER (2), TURNER, MCLAREN, KIRKPATRICK (2), MESSER, RIDDLE, LORING. The two branches of my PARKERS were both in Rush Co. after 1850. Looking for more information on these two PARKER Lines. One line came NC>TN> TX , the other NC>GA>TX. Have not been able to connect the two but feel they do connect.
