My Eli Roberts claimed he was born in South Carolina on Census material; however on My great uncle's death certificate (whose name is James HENRY, by the way) it says Eli was born in Kentucky. Eli's wife, Sophia Davis, said her parents were both from Kentucky on Census information, and somehow Eli and Sophia met (maybe in Kentucky?) and married in Illinois. My Henry Roberts would have been born prior to that, abt. 1760 in VA, however, there could still be a connection between my Roberts and your husband's as Henry seemed to be a family name.  A great aunt recorded that the family migrated to Kentucky.

Morning everyone! I am so glad to have found this group and am hoping there is someone here who might have some thoughts on my Roberts family. As you can see in the comment below, my husband shares Roberts' history and is looking for his Roberts and I am searching for mine. Eli Roberts was born around 1808 in North Carolina. He married Sophia Davis in 1832 in Knox, Illinois. They lived in Schuyler County, IL until between the 1870 and 1880 census, where they then show up in Ravenna Town, Fannin County, Texas. Prior to the marriage I have been unable to find any hint of Eli and who his parents are and how he came to meet Sophia. I am hoping someone here is also folloing that line and might have some great answers! Thanks!

Lori, My husband is looking for a Henry Roberts who was born around 1814 in Kentucky. Is there any chance that any of your "Henry Roberts" family would have been born in Kentucky around that time?

My Roberts line, as far back as I know it, was from Virginia (Culpeper County) ca 1670, then Pennsylvania, then Kentucky, and then Indiana.  My ancestor was Peter Henry Roberts.  His father was Henry Roberts and Henry had 5 brother, 4 of which served in the American Revolution.  Henry worked for the Colonies on legal matters and did not serve in the war.  Peter Henry Roberts married Sarah Hugh Bailey.  Anyone have any connections?

my ROBERTS ARE JAMES B.1805 AND LETTICE,their children were Ellen,Sarah,Betty,James ,John,Edmund,Samuel .Would love to find out more on these people or any decendants of these people.Thanks
