I am Allan Johnson connected to the Foulds family from RRS,nice to be acquainted.  I am from the  Samuel Foulds family.

My Great Grandfather David Foulds and his wife Matilda owned land in Winnipeg, St James on Home avenue and Portage which is now the Vimy Ridge Memorial,  Many family members are buried at St James Cemetery on Portage ,across from Polo Park Shopping center in Winnipeg.  My Grandfather Alexander Herbert Foulds was born on Home and Portage in Winnipeg.

Samuel FOULDS (Thomas-3, Thomas-2, Thomas-1) was christened on 27 Jan 1802 in Mansfield, Nottingham,
England. He died on 3 May 1870 in St James, Selkirk, Manitoba, Canada. Hudson's Bay Company records show that Samuel
Folds left England aboard the ship, "Prince of Wales" on 17 May 1821 and arrived at York Factory on 22 Aug 1821. He
worked as a laborer from 1821 to September 1830. At that time, he left the Hudson's Bay Company and became a permanent
settler on lo t# 62, of St. James Parish in the Red River Valley.
He was listed in the 1830 Census as age 28; born in England; Protestant; a married man with 2 daughters and owning a
stable, 1 ox, 3 cows, 2 calves, 1 pig and with his brother John Foulds 1 plough, 1 harrow and 4 carts. He had cleared, and
owned 3 acres of land. By the time of the 1843 Hudson's Bay Co. Census, he had 15 acres, and 3 sons and five daughters living at home.
