Have many ancestors in and around Athens, OH: Smith, Walker, Halbirt (Halbert), Hixson, Love, Bean, Sayers (Sayres), Pilcher, Mingus, Cone, McCune, Boyles. Also have own copy of "First Families of Athens County, Ohio" and am willing to look up people in that book and exchange info with anyone I can help!

Hello: My family came from the upper Ohio River Valley in Wv. I grew up in Weirton and now live in upstate NY. I have cousins in New Cumberland. My maiden name was Nutter; my cousins are Beatty and Williamson. Let me know if you recognize those names and places. Roberta

Hi everyone,

My name is Ted Pasco. I was born in Belmont County, Ohio and raised on a farm near Smithfield in Jefferson County. I live in San Antoino, Texas. I am researching Pasco, Boughner, Pugh, Marple, Hickman, Howell, Wade, Stern, and a multitude of others. I have been at this for nearly 30 years. I will share everything I have, with emphasis on SHARE

I got this email today and wanted to share with the group in case somebody is interested in it.
The lock-in will be Friday Aug 7, starting at 5:30 with a picnic/cookout. Everyone interested in Lawrence County genealogy is invited. We do request that you notify us by Thursday if you plan to attend. We'll provide the food, beverages and table service and are asking for $6 to cover the costs. We'll have hot dogs and hamburgers with all the fixin's, potatoe salad, baked beans, and assorted fresh fruit and veggies. You can bring something for desert if you want to.
Our group president is a library assistant manager, so we can stay as late as anyone can stay awake. The last two years have seen me getting home around 4AM.

The story of my McHenry line is a trip down the Ohio River. James in the early 1800's, John, Oscar Rosco, Lawrence, Johnnie Valentine. If these are names in your line, contact me. They started in West Virginia, traveled to Florence, KY and then to southern Indiana.
