Comment by Myo 7 hours ago I am looking for a Nancy Colson (I believe married name) who lived in Ohio at least in 1843 when her daughter Mary was born. Nancy may have been born in VT in 1808. I cannot find early records for her or who her husband was. She later married a Cyrus Searles. But after the dob's of her children.
Comment by Kate Wagner on May 12, 2013 at 8:22am I am researching the Turnpaugh/Turnpaw/Turnbaugh family who migrated from Maryland and New Jersey to Ohio and Indiana in about 1820. All of the sons that migrated appear to be brothers and cousins. Most of the lines and connections have been fleshed out but the father of James William Turnpaugh, Sr. remains a mystery. James William Sr. (born about 1822) turns up in the Ohio census claiming his father was from "New Jersey" but I have found no connection to the three brothers who originated in New Jersey (Henry, Simon, Mathias). James William owned a saw mill in West Milton. His son, Jame William, Jr. and grandson George Washington Turnpaw both owned saw mills. I'm thinking tax records, wills, estate administrations but none yet have turned up for James William, Sr. or his father's generation. Any ideas would be welcome and appreciated. Thanks.
I am looking to collaborate with Historical and Genealogical societies in Ohio. Currently working as the administrator of the Ohio Genealogy Community on Facebook.
