I am posting a note I made to myself in the hopes that someone can help me:

Here is some info I found on the family – could this Sarah b. 1751 be the wife of Samuel Smith d. 1824, who had a son Samuel Ward Smith…. Samuel Ward Smith who named a son Fenner?  It certainly seems to bear more investigation!

Fenner Ward, b. 15 Nov 1725, s. Thos & Deborah Ward. m. Martha Bacon 26 Jan 1748

n  Fenner Ward, b. 14 Oct 1756, s. Fenner & Martha Ward

n  Sarah Ward, b. 20 Apr 1751, Middletown, CT,  d. Fenner & Martha Ward

Source: Barbour Collection; Connecticut Town Birth Records pre-1870 (online at ancestry.com)

But to muddy this theory, there is also a record in Middletown of Sarah Ward m. Benjamin Adkins, Jr, Dec 8, 1776. It could be a different Sarah Ward, or perhaps Sarah was married more than once.

Remember that James b. 1801 states (1880 Census) that both parents were born in Connecticut, so we should be looking for a marriage of Samuel Ward Smith, possibly s/o Samuel & Sarah Ward Smith, in Connecticut around 1770-1780. And these *may* be the parents of our James b. 1801.

Hi Linda

Thank you for your offer to look things up!  Currently I live about 30 minutes from Norwich so I am able to get there fairly often.  I really appreciate the kind offer.

My mother has some cousins that still live in Preston - last name Macienjny - not sure if you may know them!

Hello everyone.   I live in Preston, CT, once a part of Norwich.  Danell, my husband also has Fitch relatives -  James Fitch and his wife Priscilla Mason.  Robyn, I'm not familiar with any of your names, but I'd be happy to help with research if you'd like.  I might suggest checking out findagrave.com -  a great place to find information and share genealogy.

It might take me a while, but I'd be happy to do some look ups for people. - for free!

It does not seem to be active at all.  I have been checking my page for years without any comments being given and no information to help me other than those who do research for a fee.

Hello - I am not sure how active this group is currently, however, nearly all my current research includes Norwich, Baltic, Hanover.  I have been to Otis several times and have visited several cemeteries. If anyone has other sources of info to share it is appreciated. Thank you!

The names I am most interested in include Macht, Dombroski, Levitsky, Kispert..

Hi - my name is Danell Aukerman.  I have been doing research for over 30 years from here in Oregon.  My Norwich family names are from WAY back.

Daniel FITCH b. 01 FEB 1693 in Norwich, d 03 AUG 1752 Canterbury, Windham Co.  His parents were Rev. James and Alice BRADFORD FITCH.

I own the set of books on the FITCH family that was published by Picton Press.

Daniel married Anna COOK 1718 in Cantebury.  I'm not really stuck on these lines - I just wanted to say hi.

Hi -   I am part of the Preston Historical Society and frequently do research at the Norwich Town Hall and at Otis Library.   Though I don't have research of my own to do there, I love working for others.
