Hi----I just joined your group.  My great-grandfather was from Rome, Georgia.  His name was Louis Meyerhardt.  I was wondering if anyone knows how far back marriage records go for Atlanta, Fulton County?  His second marriage occurred there, and I would like to find that record.  Thanks for any help!

Hi Nancy,
I know that the state of Georgia did not start keeping marriage records until June 1952, but it is possible the county kept them earlier. I will look into it and see what I can find out.

Thanks Barb. I did email the Atlanta probate court, but have not yet received a reply. I appreciate any other info you can find. Nancy
Hi Nancy, Georgia has marriage records online at the state archives website. Fulton County records are available from 1852 to 1903. Here's a link.
Hi Tonia,

Thanks so much for your reply. Unfortunately, I need a record from 1919. So maybe that would be available from the court. I never heard back from the probate court for Fulton County. I guess I will try again. Thanks again; that is a really great site though! Nancy
