For anyone in the North Central Texas area, then you are certainly blessed because we are lucky enough to have a Federal Archive in Fort Worth. (let me know if you don't know where that is. I can help after I stop laughing) Anyway, it's pretty easy to get to and despite the summer's heat is a pretty cool place to go if you like genealogy.

Also, a new rule that I didn't know for ages is that Texas has changed it records rules. You can now obtain a record for any one in the state at YOUR local heath department. I doesn't matter if they were born in another county or not. YEAH!!!!! I have family in several Texas areas so this is a HUGH help that I can take care of my business locally and not have to drive to Dallas to do it. Also, if you didn't know. You can only change a birth record if an older family member is still alive. My mother's records are wrong and we can no longer change it because she is the oldest family member living, so check the records and make sure their correct.

Good question Larry. I don't know why it cuts out Dallas county but it does. However, if anyone wants to include Dallas county in this discussion let's do it. I think any and all neighboring counties should be included as needed.

How could north central Texas include Tarrant and Denton Counties, but not Dallas County? Oh, well. Glad to be here!

Runnels County is where my HENRY & SHARP ancestors live for about 20 years (ca. 1920-1939) before returning to Milam County. Collateral kin in Runnels Co. include -- CASWELL & JENNINGS.
