I am deeply saddened to learn of Terry's passing and offer my condolences to his family.  Terry was one of two people whose DNA I matched perfectly and I never got to meet or talk with him.  May he rest in peace.

My deepest sympathy to Terry's family and his friends especially those who were connected to him via this group

I just received word that my genealogy buddy has passed.  Terry L Noble, a wonderful man, will be much missed by his wife Karla, friends, and family.  The obituary may be viewed at https://www.danielsfuneral.com/

Thank you John,  I thought the DNA  test might prove not to be of use to me.

I will keep plugging away,  been searching on and off for 6 years now in the hope that some new data will be available.

Regards Lorraine

I have just joined the project under my own name, rather than my brother's. He has mtDNA matches to 2 Nobles, so I am hoping I will have them also.

My kit # is 276566, I have a very old unique mtDNA L3e5a which originates in the Chad Lake basin

Lorraine -  having a DNA test done will only prove your g grandmother's lineage as to where this lineage came from and unless you have other relatives who have also done DNA it may be a waste of money. It would be better to exhaust searching all existing repositories in Ireland and Australia if you have not already done so.

Afternoon to the Noble families,  I am wondering if it would be of any use if I had a DNA test done? to try and shed some light on my g grandmother Jane Noble?

My head is just spinning trying to find Jane's parents, I have been told they were deceased when she immigrated to Australia, I have spoken to the Archives in Sydney, they also assumed that both parents were deceased in 1852?

I don't know if any of this is correct?  Any ideas what would be my next step?

Thanks Lorraine

Hi Suzanne,  Thanking you for your reply,  I am pretty sure there are a lot of incorrect trees on Ancestry.  I have a passenger list from the ship that Jane arrived on and it states that both her parents were deceased?  this is in 1852. also there is  a note stating hospital alongside her name?  phoned the NSW Archives they couldn't help if she was in hospital on the ship or went to hospital after she arrived here? they said there could be more records but I need to do the research there, makes it a bit hard as I live in Qld.    I have been through so many Irish records hitting a brick wall each time,   the trouble is so many records around that time have been lost. My grandmother was born in Fitzgerald's Valley near Bathurst,  she was one of 15 children that Jane Noble and Joseph Lewis had and each one survived.   All the paperwork I have of Jane, her death cert,. marriage cert. etc. state no parents?

I could be wrong, not sure,  I am wondering if anyone knows where I may be able to do some more research online?  Thanks Lorraine

Lorraine, the Ancestry Tree is named Brady Family. Jane married Joe Lewis in 1853, in Paddington, Sydney. She died 3 May 1912 in Bathurst, New South Wales. According to this tree they had 20 children!!!!  How did she live to 80?

There are docs to support the above dates.
