Getting Started!

Welcome and thank you for supporting Most Wanted.

Please post your challenge to the Most Wanted! Discussion Forum
Click here: Post your Most Wanted/Brick Wall/Broken Link Challenge

There seems to be an RSS feed advantage to posting challenges to the Most Wanted "Discussion Forum" rather than on the "Comment Wall." It's also easier to keep responses and attachments organized if a challenge is posted as a Discussion. Twenty challenges appear on this page; click "View All" to browse the collection and to subscribe to the RSS feed.

In addition to the link above, "Post your Most Wanted ... Challenge," you will find a "Start Discussion" button located on this page at the end of the items in the section that follows "Getting Started."

Hi. My brick wall, is my great grandmother Mary Anne Fvenimore. No one seems to know who her father is...or is not telling. I asked my grandmother about her mother in law, she got mad and said you may not like what you find out. And that was that. Mary Anne Fvenimore was born 7 September 1869 in Cheltenham, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, daughter of Anna Jane (Bowers) Day. She married William Frances Moore on 29 December 1888 in Germantown, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She died 1 October 1937 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her mother Anna Jane (Bowers) Day married Henry Clay Day (served in Civil War, PA Regt.) in 1864, after serving in Civil War. They had a son William Day in 1865. Soon after Henry joined the regular army. After serving he returned to find that Anna had given birth to Mary Anne, (whom wasn't his child). I can not find Anna Jane Day in the 1870 census, but Mary Anne Fvenimore is living with her maternal grandparents. Henry C. Day, not too long after was living with woman, with whom he had a child name Addie Day in Philadelphia. Many, many years later Anna and Henry got back together, and he buried her with his mother, and later was buried in the same grave. Any help would be much appreciated.

My first brick wall: I have searched to no avail to locate the family of the "Chandler" in my tree. He was, Edmund Chandler who married Mary Ann Parker; daughter of 1st Lt. Richard Parker, who served on the “Diligence Galley” during the Revolution. Beyond that, I have no information on Edmund Chandler.
My own line is through Mary Ann Parkers sister Nancy "Ann" Parker, Stakes who married Johannes Stakes in Accomac County VA. in 1799.

My second brick wall: My great grandfather was Mike Finnegan who was born about 1857 and died in 1905 (Houston, Texas). He married a woman who surname was Flynn. My great grand mother was very secretive about her life She went by the names Ella, Ellen, Henrietta. After 20 years I found her family but have never found anything on my Great Grandfather except for his death date. It was listed as a "Mortuary Report" in the Houston Chronicle in 1905 and there is no other information beyond the fact that he was dead.
Any help on either brick wall would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for info on Nancy J. Rogers (maybe Rodgers) born @ 1844 maybe in Ark. I cannot find her maiden name or her husbands name. She is in the 1870 Ark. census with daughter Ida @ 4 yrs. and son Berry 6 mo. Both Ida and Berry born in Ark. (I am only guessing Ark. because the 1870 census says Ark.) Where is her husband, dead? I do'nt have any info...
Nancy J. Rogers married 1883 in Ark. an Isaac Adair- I doubt they had children as he was 70 years old. Her last name was spelled Rodgers on the marriage certificate.
I appreciate ANY info and I will share all I have!
Thanks! Jenni jenicoe2001@yahoo.com
