Richard Morrow was born about 1808 in Buncome county, North Carolina. His father was James Morrow. By 1830 the family was in Cole county, Missouri, where Richard married Mary "Polly" Tomlinson. From 1850 to 1854 the family was in Grayson county, Texas. In 1855 they moved to Fort Scott, Bourbon, Kansas. Mary died in the fall of 1859 of consumption. Richard moved to Montgomery county, Kansas, in 1873, where he remained until after 1880. Some time in the 1880s he moved back to Grayson county, where he died in 1886.
