Comment by Katherine Mc Aninch on April 10, 2011 at 10:52pm Seeking information of the family of Andrew Moore, SR
wife unknown
known ch: Andrew, Jr and Elizabeth
were in Washington, Co. PA before 1800
Elizabeth married Christian Kintner son of George Kintner
they moved to Carroll Co. Ohio early 1800s
known children: Jacob, b ca 1824 Carrollton, Carroll Co., OH
The Jeremiah Moore family migrated to Carter County, Kentucky area. Then by 1850 to Clayton County, Iowa, then by 1854 Madison County, Iowa, then abt 1864 they left for Oregon with two bachelor sons, Philip M. Moore and John W. Moore. Jeremiah was born abt 1779/81.
Very interesting migration pattern for your Moore's, so close to the ones I am searching for. Other researcher's have Jeremiah's father as George Moore, but his son Hiram stated in a couple of bios that his grandfather was a William Moore. I have worked on this line for almost 10 years and a lot more research is needed.

Linda - The Moore line that I am researching migrated to Kentucky from, I beleive, Virginia or Pennsylvania. Jeremiah Moore may have been born in either state as it is a 50/50 split between what is stated on the census as to where he was born. He died at the age of 99 years in Clackamas County, Oregon about 1878. Jeremiah is reported to have married his wife Mary Zornes Moore in Adams County, Ohio. A biography of their son, Hiram, states that they were married, "...where Vanceburg now stands." Which would be in Mason County, Kentucky, across the river from Adams County. I do have a marriage record from Adams County, but no other record to prove that this is them. The search goes on!
