Does anyone know of any good sites for early marriage, birth and death records for Mississippi? Family Search doesn't have them for this state and the Genweb websites for Miss. counties don't seem to be much help for 1800-1850 vital information.

I found some information that might help someone in their
research. On the Rusk County, Texas website, there is information
on a slave owner by the name of Taylor E. Kennard. The title is Kennard Slaves,
Age of slaves are recorded in Papa's Book. Papa was Taylor Elijah Kennard(born in
Picken County, AL) It contains the name of the slaves, birth year and place with death year. Some of the slaves were born in Noxubee County, MS.(spelled Noxuby in document)
There is a copy of document on the site.
The website address is http://www.txrusk.com/aa/kennard.htm.

Hello Fellow Mississippi Researchers. I am Cristal Simmons. My paternal grandfather's side was from Coffeeville, Yalobusha Co. and Grenada, Grenada Co. MS. I am researching African American and Caucasian families with the surnames of Simmons, Spearman, Fox, Jones, Roundsoville, Rayburn and many more. My line went to Chicago but other lines went to St. Louis, Memphis, Indianapolis, Ohio. I hope to connect with kin and others researching these counties. Thanks!

Good morning Mississippi researchers. Is anyone doing community research in Wilkinson County, Mississippi in Woodville and surrounding localities? My research in that area has led to a migratory pattern from LA --> Wilkinson Co. --> Adams Co. Looking to find anyone who is researching. I have some contacts in Wilkinson county who have been helpful and the county historical society is doing a historical survey. I'll be heading to the area in early November and I'll be doing additional research. The surnames I've discovered in that area which are in my family tree are Moore, Barnes, and Washington.
