Does anyone know if the Army kept records of the serial numbers of the weapons issued in WWI? We have an old rifle manufactured 1917-18, that we know is an Army issue piece. Just don't know who in the family it originally belonged to....

I SEARCHED ANCESTRY.COM MILITARY SITE. IT HAS BEEN A COUPLE OF YEARS SINCE I LAST LOOKED. I FOUND ONE OF HIS BROTHERS, BUT NOT MY DAD

My Grandpa was part of the U.S. Constabulary at the end of WWII.

CAN'T FIND MY DADS MILITARY INFO, HE WAS IN SERVICE ABT 1942-43, I DON'T THINK HE FOUGHT ANY SKIRMISHES.
HIS NAME RAYMOND WILLIS WRIGHT B.1917 SEPT 6 IN GUERNSEY CO., CAMBRIDGE, OH. I REMEMBERING SAYING HE WAS TRAINING IN STATES OTHER THAN OHIO.
CAN ANYONE OFFER ANY SUGGESTIONS?
