Can someone tell me how I can prove or dis prove that Ruth Blount born about 1600 , natural daughter of Sir Charles Blount annd Lady Penelope DDevereux, Lady Rich, is the same person called Ruth Devonshire who married Christopther Tighman. Ruth Blount did marry a Christopther Tighman but no dates or place given. Ruth Devonshire maried Christopther Tighman suposeably in Va and had sons Gibon and Roger born in Va. My Ruth Tighman died in 1690 in Maryland according to Ancestery .com. Ruth Blount Tighman died 1690 or 1694 no place is given Can someone help me.
Ok my line would be Anthony Cooke who married Anne Fitzwilliam (daughter of William Fitzwilliam and Anne Hawes) Where is the best place to check the dates for these people. Do you have any books you could recommend?

Anthony married Anne FitzWilliam and Beatrice married Richard Ogle
Thanks for the info update! It looks like my line would be Alice Saunders who married John Cooke.

By the way, we don't know what year Jane was born. That 1465 is a bad guess based on nothing :)

Someone has made a mistake Randall. 12 Feb 1525 was the death date of Jane, not of either of her two husbands. Her first husband was William Saunders of Banbury, co Oxford. They had a daughter Alice who married John Cooke of Gidea Hall. They are ancestral to the British royal house.
By her second husband William Cope, esq, cofferer (hair dresser) to Henry VII, she had two more children Anthony and John. Both of whom also have living descendants today.
I found information at ancestory.com on a Jane Spencer b.1465 Hodnel, [parish], Warwickshire, England, d. 12 Feb 1525 Canons Ashby, [parish], Northamptonshire, England. It said she was married to William Saunders b. Abt. 1461 Banbury, [parish], Oxfordshire, England, d. 12 Feb 1525. Has anyone come accross these names before?
