I think your line is part of the McClaren DNA group. If you want I can pass on the information on the group to you. Have you been in contact with Bob McLaren? He is the Chairman, Genealogy Committee, Clan MacLaren Society of North America Administrator, Clan MacLaren Surname DNA Project (Worldwide) Member, Association of Professional Genealogists.

How about McClearn? My ancestors James (1729) and Isabella McClearn came from Ulster, Northern Ireland and arrived in Liverpool, Queens County, Nova Scotia in 1751 with 500 others. According to some early records in Queens County their name was spelled as McLarn, Maclaren, Mclaren. I have much information on the descendants all the way down to my great grandmother Carrie A. McClearn, b. 1901 Hardin County, IA. Her paternal Grandfather Robert Freeman McClearn, b. 1824 Queens County, NS was one of the earliest settlers in Hardin County, IA arriving with his brother-in-law Charles White in 1856 where they settled in Ellis Township. Robert F. McClearn married to Adeline White on 07 Oct., 1854 in Webster, ME. and she joined Robert in Hardin County by 1860. Robert was the son of James McClearn (1797-1863) and Mary Freeman (1802-1861) both born in Liverpool, Queens County, NS; they moved from NS to Suffolk County, MA...she died in Boston and he died in Roxbury. James was the son of James McClearn (1762-1857) and Mary Placeway (1762-1846). James was the son of James and Isabella.
I'll have to let my cousin know about the McClure name as that is her maiden name. We come from North Dakota.
