Unknown History

I have been searching since 2004. I would like to know my family history both maternal and fraternal.

Here's what I know my maternal great-grandfather name was Kit Martin he was born around the time of January 1935 in Virginia .I have tried to trace him to see if I can get a mother and father name.

Only thing I found was 1900 census with my grandmother still at home and that was in Bogalusa,Louisiana. Also in 1910 census living with a new wife.I found on find-a -grave site a headstone in a cemetery call Martin which has death date of March 8 1913.

There's no beginnings and not a lot of in betweens. Help please
