My Martin family came to Fayette Co, Pa about 1774/75. Samuel married Mary Eaton Brown, daughter of John Brown, member of the Pa Line in Rev. War.  They had 5 sons. Samuel drove a wagon across the mountains with supplies for the Army.  He came from Donegal, Ireland.  He may have come with a brother or 2. They may have settled in Butler and or Bradford areas.  I have not gotten into searching for any of them. His sons were: William, Alexander, John A, Samuel, and James.  My line is from John A.  They all stayed in Fayette Co, Pa.  Anyone related to these Martin's

I am looking for info on probably the same family.....Hannah Martin Van swearingen is my ancestor. She was born in Virginia but married in Fayetteville PA.  She had a brother Samuel and John Adam Martin.  There are also some Martins in the 1870 census that have birth in Ireland and Prussia.  Hannah's Mother was Barbary (Barbara) Martin born in Prussia.  I haven't been able to find anymore info on her parents, siblings etc that is not related to the Van Swearingen line.  I did find Barbary in the 1870 census living with a seemingly unrelated family at 100 yrs old two houses away from the before mentioned Martins. Samuel was living with Hannah and her husband.
