Comment by Lewis Hartswick on August 16, 2012 at 5:34pm Anyone with an idea as how to make a list and export it of all the entries with
the same surname including at least birth and death dates, notes would be nice.
The object is to give another searching the same surname all the ones in my
file to look over for matching and exchanging data.
Thanks, Lew Hartswick

My bad. I apologize. I see that now.

Comment by Rick Hammond on August 14, 2012 at 4:02pm I can see that you did not read my comment carefully I only got the notes for the current wife and I cycled through the 3 wives and only got the notes for the wife shown during my test. I never said I got notes for all the wives on the same group sheet.

Comment by Sarah Coles on August 14, 2012 at 3:39pm Hi again,
I finally got a chance to try this Family Group Report again and this individual had three wives with notes for him and his spouses. Like you, Brian, I do not get notes on the other two wives; just the one. I have to change to his next wife and so forth to get the notes to appear. For some reason I am not having that issue either anymore that I first complained about here. It just says "General Notes of Husb-" and then "General Notes of Wife-" in the header which is fine. But I would like to be able to have notes for all three wives in one report but it looks like that is not possible in the Family Group Report.
I wonder how Rick was able to get notes on other spouses in his test. Also, I still do not understand why I was getting the wife's name in the header in that first sample I sent.. Was that the Family Group Report you did, Rick?

Comment by Sarah Coles on August 13, 2012 at 4:53pm Hi Brian,
That's my fault as I just didn't change the name before running the report as I was just doing a test. There's not an issue with that. What else are you suggesting that is non-standard? I wonder why you couldn't get the second wife's notes to appear. I think I should check out some other individuals that have more than one wife and both have notes and see what I come up with. It might not be tonight though but I'll get back to you with those results.. Thanks,
Sarah
Comment by Brian Kelly on August 13, 2012 at 3:33pm Sarah, Submit this to our support team: support@legacyfamilytree.com. Someone will work with you but we will need report setting information since the graphic you attached below indicates you are using non-standard report settings. For example the report heading uses the wife's name instead of the husband.
Like Rick I tried to duplicate your problem but I could not get the second wife's notes to appear.
Comment by Sarah Coles on August 13, 2012 at 3:21pm Hi Rick,
Thanks for your input. This is really strange. After I exited Legacy and signed back on to the program I tried three different settings as you suggested with the same results. Now on General Notes it just says "Wife -" with no name at all and the note beneath. I guess that's fine. Funny how I had to sign out of Legacy to have that happen. In this case I have no notes for his other wife. I should check some of my other individuals that have more than one wife and notes along with those. Appreciate your help! Thanks again,
Sarah.
Comment by Rick Hammond on August 13, 2012 at 3:00pm I have a fellow in my tree and I did a test of all 3 marriages and only the notes of the wife come up. When I did the report I defautled on the husband and selected the wife I wanted and then previewed the report it turned out right each time and the only referrence to the other wives is in the heading. I do not get the general notes for the other wives. I would check your report options and make sure they are set for what you want to view. Just use the preview to see if its correct.

Comment by Sarah Coles on August 13, 2012 at 2:15pm Anybody got an answer to this one? I have a person who was married twice and his second wife has a note attached to her and I wanted to print a Family Report. I set the second wife to "preferred" and yet the report in print preview says in the header above the note: "Wife of (first wife's name)." I searched and could not find anything that would change this. Is this a Legacy defect? The note is fine it's just that it should say in the header: "Wife of (second wife's name)." Am I missing something? I highlighted the second wife's name that is preferred also and still got the same thing. The note is only attached to the second wife, BTW and not her husband.
Thanks for any help regarding this issue.
Sarah.
