Alice Lederer married Richard Perutz 1900 in Austria.

Her parents were Gottlieb Lederer and his wife was Anna Stedry. Not exactly sure when Alice and Richard moved to America, but they moved to NY I believe NYC to be exact. They both died around 1948-1950 time frame in NY. Any help would be appreciated. I have pictures, and obits for them if needed also.

Also I believe Gottlieb parents were Marcus Lederer and Theresa Perutz.

David, we may be related after all, but I'm not sure how. On Footnote.com I found an immigration document dated October 24,1856 that said Mark Lederer was a witness to the naturalization of an Austrian, Samuel Lederer, Oct.24,1856.I believe that Samuel is my 2nd great grandfather, and Mark may be Marcus. Was he in America that long ago?

Also in a New York City directory for 1857 there are listings for "Lederer,Mark,tanner,13 Jacob,h Delancy" and "Lederer,Samuel,leather,15 Jacob,h N.Jersey." The latter is most probably my Sam since he moved to New Brunswick,NJ and was a tanner.

The 1870 Wilkes Barre,PA census lists a Marx Lederer (married to Josephine) who's a leather manufacturer.

What do you think?
Sorry Richard.I was excited to see the name Marc/Mark/Marx and did not see that they emigrated much later.Oh well, they may still all be from the same family.
David,

Do you know where your Lederers hailed from? Eytan Lederer has joined the group, and all of my European information came from him.I'm sure he'd be happy try to find a connection although Lederer can just refer to their occupation as leather workers and may not mean we're all the same family.I hope you are though.
