Hi everyone. I am researching the Jones/Nix line of Nassau County, Florida. I know that William(1825-?) and Elizabeth(1835-?) Jones were born in Georgia.

I've been researching James Henry Jones (b. 1849; d. 1923) of Moore's Prairie Township, Jefferson County, Illinois. Also looking for information about his grandfather, William Jones, who died in 1832 in Todd County, Kentucky at only 30 years of age. Have not been able to determine how he died or where he's buried.

If anyone is researching Jones from southeast Ky I'm looking any info on Wiley & Elizabeth Jones. They are both listed in the 1860 Breathitt County census but in 1870 Elizabeth is a widow. Anything concerning death dates, children, whatever would be appreciated. Thanks

You may already know this, but according to the Kansas State Vital Records site (site), marriage records prior to 1913 were recorded at the county or city level. So that's who you'd have to contact for the marriage certificate.

@ Chip Jones....Kind of...according to the obit it mentions his father is Griffith but no mention of a mother. I am also trying to find out where to get a marriage certificate for Kansas. It sounds like some of their records are missing.

@Laurie Jones... I'm assuming that you're stuck in terms of who his parents were, correct? Have you ever looked for his marriage certificate?

@Chip Jones.....He arrived at New York 24 Februray 1900. Birthdate and location I got from his obituary published in the Emporia Gazette. Also it is listed in his funeral card.
