Nicholasville: Bennis C. Stinnett, 80, of Sulphur Well Rd., died Thurs., Nov. 30, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. A native of Jessamine County he was born Nov. 3, 1926, to the late Hobart and Ada Bowman Stinnett. Bennis was a US Army veteran having served in the Korean War and a devoted Christian of the Methodist faith, but enjoyed gospel singing and churches of all faiths. He was self employed having entered the trucking business early in life when he use to go with his father to the stockyards learning about cattle. Upon his return from Korea he began hauling coal and cattle and helping his brother Milton in his auctioneering business as a clerk. He began working for what is now Bluegrass Stockyards in 1944. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Roberta Teater Stinnett, a brother Milton Stinnett and wife Tenney, niece Judy Mullins and husband Scotty, great niece Annie Mullins, a great nephew Edward Scott Mullins, all of TX., a brother in law Rollie Teater, and 2 sisters in law Billie Jean Teater and Nina Ann Young and husband Donald.
Services will be 1:00 PM Mon., Dec. 4, at HAGER & CUNDIFF FUNERAL HOME, W. Oak St., with Rev. Mike Snyder, Rev. Clint Hurt, Rev. Steve Sholar, and Rev. Lavon Clem officiating, burial in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Services will be 1:00 PM Mon., Dec. 4, at HAGER & CUNDIFF FUNERAL HOME, W. Oak St., with Rev. Mike Snyder, Rev. Clint Hurt, Rev. Steve Sholar, and Rev. Lavon Clem officiating, burial in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Linda Stinnett Sallee died Thursday, May 7, at her home on Laurel Lane. A native of Jessamine County she was born Oct. 2, 1950, to Effie Houp Stinnett and the late Johnny B. Stinnett. Survivors include her Mother, daughters Donna Abney, husband Paul, Diana Byrd, husband Johnny, a son Barry Stinnett, brothers Johnny, Mark, and Ronnie Stinnett, wife Casandra, grandchildren Robert Stinnett, Lacey Abney, Lindsey Byrd, Billy Abney, Jonathon Byrd, and Savanna Abney, special friend and the love of her life Donnie Sallee.

Pearl Stinnett Fain, 96, formerly of Brown St. died Sat. July 18, at Northpoint Nursing Home. She was the widow of Virgil D. Fain who passed away in 1989. She was born April 24, 1913, in a house built by her father and grandfather near Pollard in a community then called Cobbtown. Her parents were the late Wilmert and Fannie Woodward Stinnett. She became a Christian at the age of 15. Her church membership is at the Nicholasville United Methodist Church. She was a 50 plus year member of the WMU, a Sunday school teacher and served many other roles in the church. She was a member of the Oak Hill Homemakers Club and had been a piano teacher. Music was a vital part of her life and she sang for church and funeral services, and taught music in the public schools and also privately in the 1950’s. After moving to town in 1959 she worked and retired from Central Baptist Hospital. Survivors include her daughter Janelle, a half sister Margie, a half brother Arnold, several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 full brothers Stratton and Marvin and 2 half sisters Lorene and Emily. A special thanks to the staff at Northpoint Nursing Home and to her roommate, Helen.
Services will be 1:00 PM Wed., July22, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Maple Grove Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Tues., July 21, at the funeral home. see Fain for photo -

The ambulance was called out yesterday morning to convey young John Stinnett from his home on Georgetown street to Saint Joseph Hospital, Young Stinnett and his father were both down at the same time with typhoid fever.
