I am researching the Langley family from Balla, County Mayo pre 1840. My great great grandfather was Peter Langley. He had sisters Mary, Bridget and Catherine as well as others and at leaset two brothers, Thomas and John. Mary married Thomas Bluett, Catherine married a Patrick Aloysius Dennison and Bridget married a 'Flynn'.

I don't have an answer to your inquiry, but I am interesed in tracing the Langley family, particularly Kathleen Langley, after she immigrated to the U.S. She married my great grandfather in 1929. Her father was Peter Langley, mother Honoria and eight siblings. From Ancestry.com and census and immigration data, I can see that her sisters Mary and Nora and ultimately her mother also immigrated. The sisters were all nurses and ended up in Los Angeles. Is this the same family from Mayo? If so, do you have any further information on possible descendants? Kathleen and Mary married later in life - 40 or so and did not have children. Kathleen married Jacob E. Baker, Mary married Frank Eley and Nora married Griffith.

I appreciate any help you can give me.

Yes, they were from Mayo, Noreen. If you look at my tree on ancestry you will find quite a deal of information. Peter and Honoria were school teachers. One place they lived was in Foxford, Mayo. I have quite detailed information from the South Mayo Family History Society which I have made available on ancestry, so please have a look. Your Peter was my grandfather's nephew. My grandfather was also Peter and he emigrated to Australia after being in New Zealand for a short time. He travelled there on the Olympus in 1840-41 with his sister Mary (married name Bluett). Their other sister Catherine emigrated to the USA with her husband Aloysius Dennison. Their father's name was Thomas. He appears on Griffiths Valuation, thank- you for the information on Langley's which you provided.
