Where to Post

I'm trying to organize things a bit so I've made threads in the Discussion Forum for each county. If you know where the people you are researching lived, please post your queries, information, etc. in the appropriate thread/county. If you don't know where in Indiana the people you are researching lived or if they lived in multiple counties, go ahead and post to the Comment Wall below. Also, if you feel your post is urgent or you want it to be viewed by the whole group, post to the Comment Wall. As always, everyone is also still welcome to start their own discussion threads.

Since Genealogy Wise doesn't allow the option of displaying ALL Discussion Forum threads, some won't appear below. If you don't see the county or discussion that you are looking for below, click on "View All" in the bottom right of the Discussion Forum and you should be able to
find it there. Thanks!

My father came from Wabash County; the family members I personally knew centered in North Manchester, Wabash, and Laketon, other northern Indiana places are also home to some of the family. My husband may have connections to southern Indiana locations.

The Indiana names for the Wabash and other northern Indiana locations are Kimmel, Lautzenheiser, Shafer, and Strickler (and their various spellings).

I live in Fort Wayne, but am from Ohio. I have ancestors in Ohio and Switzerland Counties. I am working on the Vevay Newspaper Index (in Switzerland county) for the years 1840, 1853-1901.
