Transcription and translation

I have a question I haven't found addressed. 

When working on the transcription portion of a submission, when there are many entries on a page, does one transcribe the entire page, or simply the portion that relates to the ancestor in question?

Additionally, when working with foreign languages (French in my case) do I put the translation of the document on a new page, or as a new entry on the transcription page?  And, again, do I translate just the document or the page?
