I have been tracing ancestors, and have some relations from Alabama, which go back to hollingsworths in Ireland., the same place your ancestora came from:Armagh, I think. I will check names and places and get back later. Wesley hall Hollingsworth married Susan Lee (daughter of Needham Lee) near Birmingham Alabama. They had 2 sons, John P. Hollingsworth and Eddward Columbus Hollingsworth and my great grandma, Josephine aHollingsworth . John Perry and Ed Columbus both fought in Civil War and are related to Robert E. Lee supposedly, through their mother, SUsan Lee!

WOw!Icant believe it, but your great..great grandpa is same as mine!!My Hollingsworth ancestor is Valentine Hollingsworth, Same as yours (his father, according to ancestry.com is Henry Hollingsworth, born 1598 Segoe, Ireland, and died 1675, PAR. Ireland. Valentine settled in Delaware, and my ancestor was one of Valentines's children, Thomas V.J. Hollingsworth, born in Armagh, Ireland. But he returned to Delaware, and his son ,Abraham, was born in Virginia. They eventually migrated to Tennessee and then to Alabama, because a lot of my 3rd cousins are living in Alabama. My mother and grandmother and great grandmother were all born in Birmingham, Al!

Dear James, It appears there are a lot of Hollingsworthswho go backto Valentine and Henry, from Ireland. My lineage appears to be same as yours, only george Hollingsworth had a son Elias (probably brother of Robert), and Elias had a son, John T>Hollingsworth (born about 17 85, Virginia), and John T. had a son Wesley Hall Hollingsworth (born 1802, South Carolina and died 1857 in Shelby, Alabama). He had my great granma, Terrisa Josephine Hollingsworth Sept. 1, 1854 in Alabama. She died March 7, 1940, and is buried in Pratt City, Alabama. Where did your Holligsworths wind up?What state? Most of descendants of George Hollingsworth wound up in VIrginia and then Alabama!
