Hello Micheal. Is it possible that your Higgins Family Genealogy could combine with the Higgins Family site so we could compare notes easily? I'm sure if we all got together with our individual input we may get somewhere. As they say Two {or more}are better than One.
Kindast Regards.
Jennifer.

I decided to change the image related to this group. Coats of arms are really not appropriate for genealogy. I hope you understand. Besides, I thought this was kinda "cool." My favorite uncle, Francis Clark Higgins and his son, Guy, owned and operated Higgins Printing in Rochester, New York for many years.

My ggg grandmother Nancy Higgins b 1845 - her parents were Walter Higgins b 1815 and his wife Jane b 1817. I'm stuck there. Walter was born in NY, but his parents were from Vermont. I'm unsure of Jane's surname, but she and her parents were born in NY. They all lived in Cayuga County.

Hi. My Higgins's are from Ireland. Not sure where from, yet, but I'm working on that. I know my 3rd great-grandfather arrived in the USA sometime after 1830. I think he was Protestant (my great-grandfather was), but I'm not sure. His parents names were John and Jennie Higgins. No information on siblings. He married Mary Clarke about 1852. He lived for 50+ years in Geneseo, NY and had eight children. Took him 45 years to petition for American citizenship. I think procrastination is genetic. :-)
Anyone have any advice on how I might narrow my research down to a specific county? All sources I've seen so far have Higgins families in several counties.
