Thanks for the welcome!  I descend from Daniel's son Nehemiah. Yes let's do stay in touch and hopefully someday we will figure this all out.

Hi Cousin Deb!

Which child do you descend from? I descend from Nancy Ann. Unfortunately, you're at the same point I'm at. No one seems to know much about Elizabeth"Betsy"Wilson. No proof yet but she might be Daniel's second wife. One story I heard was that Daniel was a teacher & Betsy was a student of his. Again, I have no proof of this story. They migrated from Sussex Co.,DE. to Washington Co.,OH. circa 1810. We will have to keep in touch!

Hi I'm Deb and I'm a direct descendant of Daniel Hearn and Betsy Wilson.  Thanks Pam for starting this group!  I'm hoping someone can help me continue this branch of my tree.  I have been able to document Daniel but not Betsy.  I also found a tree at family tree maker with more generations but not sure how reliable it is.  It doesn't have documentation with it.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Pamela,  William's first wife died in the West Indies and from what I read, he married Mary Cuthbert, his second wife, in London and she came to Maryland with him.  Interesting that his last child was born when he was SIXTY ONE years old.

Kate, I forgot to ask do you know whom William T. Hearn married? Was it in England or MD. & when? Thanks again!

Hi Kate!

You must have had a wonderful trip to MD./DE. I'm glad the historical society fixed up the cemetery. Maybe the historical society can now mark Hearn Lane so it can be found easier! Is it near the Mason-Dixon line? Thanks so much for all the interesting Hearn information too.

I hope I can find out something about Nehemiah Hearn's d-i-l Elizabeth "Betsy" Wilson wife of Daniel Hearn. I know nothing about her but her name right now.

Thanks again for all the information. I appreciate it a lot! We will have to keep in touch cousin!

Pamela, btw, your Nehemiah Hearn was a son of William T. Hearn and the brother of my 7x ggrandfather, Jonathan Hearn.  William T. Hearne was a carpet trader, originally from London, who resided in the West Indies then moved to the Eastern Shore about 1683 where he acquired a tract of land he called "St. Kitt's" after his home, St. Christopher's in the West Indies. The family cemetery is actually in Wicomico County, MD just south of State Line (De Line) Road which divides Maryland and Delaware, on Hearn Lane.  Hearn Lane is an unmarked "lane" consisting of two dirt ruts through corn and soybean fields. Trust me. It is not marked. I found out the hard way by searching up and down Mason-Waller Road (Waller Road,  present day) for the turn off and was one minute from giving up when I found it.  The cemetery, the Freeney-Hearn Cemetery, was recently restored by the historical society.

I recently returned from vacation on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Delaware and visited the family cemetery of William T. Hearn located on his plantation (ca 1688), St. Kitt's.  I also found a number of Hearn graves at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Seaford, DE.  Interesting tidbit:  the presidential suite at the hotel I stayed in at Ocean City, MD  was named "St. Kitt's."
