George Augustus "Gus" Hawkins
George Augustus Hawkins was the fifth and last husband of my grand aunt, Mary Joan Clanton (1918-1994). He was born Jun 13, 1904, birthplace unknown, and died Apr 20, 1974 in Miami, Dade, Florida, USA. He married Aunt Joan September 1961 in Miami, Dade, Florida, USA. They had no children.
I'm interested to know where he was born and his ancestry. I've been unable to find any information about him beyond what I have posted. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I checked on ancestry and there is a George Augustus Hawkins in the 1930 US Census living in Miami Dade Florida.
It lists his birthplace as Georgia and shows him living with daughter and son-in-law Lottie and Samuel H Watson. I hope this helps.
