We have a Hackett Family Bible from 1828. It has a family tree, more or less, in it--no years, just month/day and name of person born, and possibly one death as it doesn't say, "born" with that name. Interested in learning more? If I recall, "William" was the first mentioned in it.

I am a Hackett from County Clare Ireland. my grandfather was Michael ( Mop ) Hackett born in Clonlara County Clare Ireland in 1884. His father was James born ab 1843 and his mother was Catherine Torpey born 1843. They were Lock keepers at Newtown Clonlara on the Grand Canal. The lock house and the lock still exist today and hackett's still live there

The Hacketts are my adoptive family, though I have done some work on tracing them for my relatives who are Hacketts by blood.

The farthest back I can go with that is to William Hackett
Birth abt 1821 in Rutlandshire County, England
Death August 9, 1900 in Linwood, Ontario, Canada who was married to "Sara" Clarissa Astrope.

They were the parents of:

John married Elizabeth Jane Beggs and they were the parents of:

William Cecil & his wife Idella Florence Sanders were the parents of:

And William Clifford Hackett & his wife Dorothy Alice David were my adoptive parents.

I don't have much info on my Hackett family, but they settled in Bowmanville, Durham County, Ontario Canada and area in the mid-1800's

Hi! I'm descended from Peter Hackett of VA who was born sometime in the late 1700s and had a son named John who married a Murphy in 1816 in KY. They had a son Oliver b. 1822 in KY. I think Peter had a brother named Bazel as they seemed to be of the same generation and migrated to the same areas, but I have not found anything to confirm that suspicion yet.
