My great grandmother was Charlotte Beatrice Graves. My gaves line begins with Thomas Graves. He was born before 1585 in England and married Sarah. They immigrated to the United States of America. I am currently researching this line in order to collect the necessary documentation to become a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. If you would like more information on the Graves families being researched, please go to www.gravesfa.org. This particular line can be found at www.gravesfa.org/gen168.htm.
I am descended from John Graves of Northamptonshire, England and VA, born about 1665. This is genealogy 270 on the Graves Family Association website. He is descended from the family of Thomas Greaves of Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire, England (genealogy 47), as shown by DNA testing, but we don't know the exact connection yet. What is your lineage?
Hi Andy. I too descend from Thomas and Sarah's son John. Then, I descend through John and Mary Smith's son Samuel, through Noah and Rebecca Wright's son Reuben, Martin and Hannah Jefferson's son Amos, Amos and Lois Marsh's son James to Giles Graves. My paternal grandmother had a written family tree for the Graves. The Graves goes through her maternal side. You would be interested in www.gravesfa.org/gen168.htm. I believe once you get settled you will find a lot of useful information through this site.
In the genealogy I have that was passed down from my grandmother Nathaniel Graves, b. 1671 in Hatfield, MA was born to John Graves and Mary Bronson. Happy researching...
