July 4, 2010: James Armistead Lafayette was a Virginian slave, and American Revolution spy; Gen. Lafayette, his spymaster. The Virginia General Assembly purchased Jame's' freedom, and by special named private legislation, the U.S. Congress, awarded a special pension for Jame's service. Belatedly the CIA, I believe; recognized Jame's service in a traveling exhibit.

Upon his triumphant return to America, the two Lafayettes, admirers of each other; at Richmond, had their last joyful meeting and "Adieu!".

Does Richmond's famed Avenue of Statues yet commemorate these two Lafayette patriots, one French, one America; who once celebrated their last meeting at that city?
