Hi Evelyn,

I don't *think* I have come across yours yet, or if I have didn't pay too much attention if it didn't tie into my lines.

I have just begun the project, but would love to add your info to the database.

The only Elisha Rogers I have looked at in the last year (other than the two elusive Elisha Rogers in GA) were one in Tennessee & one in Mississippi.

Hi Hank,
As you can see on my post of July 29, my Rogers are from the South and my great grandfather was Andrew Elisha Rogers. I would like to know if you know about the family I mention.
Thank you, Evelyn

Hi Gerry, it's Hank, we've talked before about Elisha Rogers in GA.

I believe Balam was a brother to your Elisha, not son. I still believe my Elisha (1801 GA-1892 AR) is a brother to Rebecca.

I'm doing a project called, "The Elisha Rogers Project," collecting info on as many Elisha Rogers' across the South in the 19th Century as possible. The page is in my Rogers website:

I'm going to try to copy or re-transcribe all my Georgia Rogers records to share with you. I lost the flash drive with the original text transcription documents but luckily I had printed them (mostly) all out & have them hard-copy.

My Great-Great Grandmother was Rebecca Rogers born 1819 in Putnam Co Ga.
She married 1837 in Henry Co Ga James Stanford Aven who was the son of
Matilda Rogers.
Rebecca was the dtr of Elisha Rogers & Mary Hall-married as his 2nd- 1809 Baldwin Co Ga.
His first wife is unknown, but they had Balaam W, Anon C, Elisha, Richmond Charles and Crawford.
By Mary he had James, Haley B, Lucinda, Rebecca, Matthew?, Mary, Amanda and several census children not known.
Elisha was born a 1770-5 NC and probably died Henry Co. aft 1837.
Matilda-"Pinky"was born 1780 NC and married Amos Aven probably Chatham Co NC who was from Nash, and Northampton.
They moved by 1820 to Tn. and had most of their children in NC- at least 13- More on the Tn bunch and one or two that came to Ga.
