Comment by Barbara McCarthy(Urks) on October 31, 2011 at 6:18pm: Godfrey is a genelogical library in Middletown, CT, The Godfrey Memorial Library. They have an online site Godfrey.org. Some of the site is free, but it is also a pay site.

I have been to the library in Middletown. Lots of family histories for New England, but also US wide.

Comment by Sally Nelson on October 31, 2011 at 2:22pm: Thanks for the responses. I knew they had more than the old Footnote but was not sure. It seems they keep changing and I am not sure if it depends on which Center you are using. I am about an hour from the nearest center to me.

I'll check at my FHC as I am missing some. Ancestry, Fold3, FindMyPast are available at the center I frequent. There are others including one of the large online newspaper sites. All are free to use at the FHC, but you may have to pay a small amount to print a page or to copy an image to your flash drive (the image is transferred to a computer first, and you can use the computer to adjust the brightness and contrast of the image before copying it to your flash drive).
