Hi Keith,

I can see that I am about two years behind joining this group, lol. I have been sat for a week wondering about forcing my wallet open to buy Filemaker pro 11, your comments here and the pic of your database have helped me make up my mind, thankyou. Is there anything you have done in the creation of your database that would necesitate the purchase of the advanced version of the programme?

All "basic" data is saved in Microsoft Excel 2003 running in Windows XP

Lineage data is saved in GreatFamily (www.greatprogs.com). I started using this many years ago and regrettably there is no easy way to transfer all the data out of GreatFamily to a program like Reunion. My main criticism of this database is that it has very limited search facilities whereas I would like similar search capability as provided with ancestry.com for search the census returns.
