Comment by Alan Magnus-Bennett on January 30, 2012 at 5:24am Hi Linda. We moved into Newburgh, Fife just over two years ago. Anne, my partner is a Glagow girl and I was born in Derbyshire. However, as you can see, my Scottish ancetral blood has revealed itself in my historic reenactment hobby.
Comment by Alan Magnus-Bennett on January 24, 2012 at 10:28am My direct ancester is Margaret Gavin, wife of Moses Magnus (a London dealer born in 1854). She was born in Edinburgh in 1863 daughter of David Gavin also born in Edinburgh in 1845. His wife was Margaret Ferguson born in 1846. His grandfather was David Reid Gavin born 1791 who married into the Meldrum family. My family tree via the Meldrums goes back to around 1670.
