Hi Linda. We moved into Newburgh, Fife just over two years ago. Anne, my partner is a Glagow girl and I was born in Derbyshire. However, as you can see, my Scottish ancetral blood has revealed itself in my historic reenactment hobby.

My direct ancester is Margaret Gavin, wife of Moses Magnus (a London dealer born in 1854). She was born in Edinburgh in 1863 daughter of David Gavin also born in Edinburgh in 1845. His wife was Margaret Ferguson born in 1846. His grandfather was David Reid Gavin born 1791 who married into the Meldrum family. My family tree via the Meldrums goes back to around 1670.

I am attempting to trace back to Scotland 3 family lines. On my maternal grandmother's side I have gone as far back as the late 1600's in the US, ending with a Charles Gavin of Chowan, NC. His ancestry is unknown at this time.

On my father's side, I am researching the families of my grandfather, George Smith Stevenson, born near Paisley/Renfrew, Scotland, around 1891, and my grandmother, Jessie or Jesse Law, also born around 1891, near Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

One additional family line, my mother's father's family, McQuitty, believed to be from Ireland or Scotland.
