Hi everyone,

Are you looking for your Canadian decendants french and english?  I live in Hawkesbury, Ontario a five minute walk to the Quebec border and have found two that are worth checking out:

For those searching for Canadian ancestors there are two great sites: http://www.nosorigines.qc.ca/genealogie.aspx?lng=fr it shows Canadian, Acadian and Quebec families including in some cases a small history of the relative and their jobs. You can even have links to parents and grandparents.  Some are missing marriages and children, but by becoming a member we are allowed to update them. I suggest using the phonetic search option instead of exact name bacause of the spelling changes for the same names. Please note that Native wives were accepted by the church until a proper white wife could be found. I also love this site https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/list#page=1&regi...

If you are interested in the concept of marriage contracts in New France should refer to Suzanne Boivin Sommerville's article about marriage contracts at http://www.fchsm.org/pdf/MarriageContract.pdf. Transcriptions of many of the 18th century contracts drafted in Detroit can be found in the Detroit Notary Records, part of the Drouin Collection.
