As Alan says, if you post some items from the Log file at FHUG someone will be able to tell you what they are, but in general if you don't recognised the data, it's probably not important.

I've just downloaded FH V.4 trial to have a look. I was a Brother's Keeper user for a few years then switched to Legacy Family Tree Deluxe because of its much stronger sourcing module. A friend suggested I take a look at FH and I must say that on first blush it looks promising. The only thing is that once I did an import of my Legacy gedcom I ended up with a fairly long Log file and for the most part I have no idea to what information or event the log file is referring. Is there anyone here who's a bit savvy with log files who could help me figure out what is what?

Thanks Jane!
I don't remember seeing that part in the manual but I probably just skipped over it without thinking. So thank you very much. I also have FH3, if that means anything. I bought it before I realized a new one was coming out.
Thanks again! I'm checking out the sites now and I already bookmarked them for later uses as well. (-:

Does anyone know if it's possible to break apart files or merge files? I have one big master file but I'd like to break it up by different families to make it easier to read for others. I've also started separate files for research on families they may or may not be mine but after discovering they are, I'd like to merge them with my master file without having to retype everything. I also have pictures in one file but not my master and I'd like to get those in there, too, without having to redo all the typing. Is that possible? And how do I do it?
