I grew up on Westfield Road, called Aldine Westfield Road by some. My parents sold some of the land where Food Giant built a big grocery store. I don't think Westfield Rd went as far as 1960. My husband grew up around Spring and Tomball. His Blake grandparents are buried in a Cemetery on Jones Rd. The last time we went by that cemetery it had a chain link fence around it. My question is are you sure that area was called Westfield?
1st, let me say WELCOME to GW! I am so very glad to see you here Clovis.

You may be right. It is hard to say where the old boundary lines were between the various small communities. perhaps it is the Bammel Community, but the Findagrave page lists it as near Westfield.

The cemetery sets in the 3000 block of FM1960, just to the north between Kuykendahl Rd to the east & T.C. Jester to the west. A tighter boundary would be Welcome Dr to the east & Draper to the west. I think the name of the housing addition is Northgate. I know you turn north on Northgate Fairway Dr., (like you are entering the addition) go to the second turn around and head back out, going slowly & looking to your right. The gate sets off the road and you have to park on the road, there is no drive entrance. Walk around the gate, go down the footpath until you get to the fork, turn to the right and you'll see the old cemtery in the distance.

You are correct, it is the Erhardt cemetery, named for Dr. William Erhardt. His home was right across the dirt road from the cemetery. This was also the final location of the town of Westfield. Many of my family is buried there and the cemetery is managed by Dr. Erhardt's daughters. The cemetery the other poster is refering to is Perry Cemetery near Jones and Grant road I believe. I have many family members there also. Dr. Ehrardt was the product of German imigrants and care for the residents of Westfield until his death.

the cemetery is managed by bill wagner and my self ron satcher if it wasent for me you could not find it.i spent two weeks cleaning the place up fixing the head stones

A BIG Thank you for that! I have been to that cemetery several times and it is beautiful and peaceful. You are doing an excellent job. Do you know if there exist a plot of the cemetery from years past? I ask because some friends of mine are looking for their ancestors, supposedly buried about 20 ft to the right of the gate. The graves in that location are missing the headstones so we are hoping there may be a book or plot of the graves from long ago.

This pic was taken with my cell phone so it is a bit fuzzy
bill knows more about who is out there than me . have you been out there in the last couple of months.i did a lot out there this spring. i had it looking like a park.i burned a lot of limbs and brush.i would still like to fix some more of the head stones.my wifes great grandparents are the franklins out there. i have a picture of selvina. The sign out front i made .I wanted to make an arch but i put it to the side to close up the hole and keep people from driving back there.
I think it has been several weeks since I was out there with Janet & George Noark, she has the kin.

Here is the link to the cemetery on Find A Grave: EHRHARDT CEM

Here is Selvina's memorial, I created. If you would like, I'll be most happy to transfer it to you and any others I posted that you may want. Adding her photo would be a nice touch. I love the old cemeteries. So happy this one is being cared for.

BTW, George Noark and his son make headstones in their garage. They have sent me some photos and they do excellent work!! I'll send you their email address.

I have only seen the location Bammel, Tx associated with Ehrhardt Cemetery. I asked my wife, Janet, whether Ehrhardt Cemetery was located in Westfield or Bammel and she replied that "they are about the same." Who knows? I certainly don't.

My wife's maiden name was 'Williams.' Almost all of her relatives are either buried at Perry, Ehrhardt or a cemetery up in Plantersville. She is related to the Richey, West, and Williams Families that are buried in Ehrhardt according to the Williams' Family Historian, Mr. Kenneth G. Williams. We have been told that Janet's Great Grandmother. Sarah Ann (Woodward) Williams is buried somewheres in Ehrhardt Cemetery. We are searching for her gravesite. That's the reason that we were out there a few weeks ago. We didn't have much luck; but, we did see a number of her children's tombstones while we were there. We have been told by a cousin who heard it from a cousin, Harvey Jean West, that Sarah's grave location is about 20 to the right as you enter the gate. All we saw in that location were mostly piles of crushed concrete or markers that were not legible.. However, we haven't given-up yet!

I am linking the Ehrhardt family members together and I have not been able to find out anything about Sophia Ehrhardt (1865-1894). Does anyone know if she is a daughter or married into the family?

Does anyone know if the cemetery is open during the day? I know one of my great aunts is buried there and potentially more ancestors.  I would like to get in touch with whomever manages it if anyway possible to coordinate with the caretaker(s) if it isn't open to the public during the week.  Thanks!  Elaine

The cemetery is usually NOT open. It sits in the woods between FM 1960 and an upscale housing addition. It is locked because the kids do not respect the cemetery... my best guess.

Ron has stated that he and Bill are the guardians so to speak so you want to contact them.
