Penelope - the Elkans of Newcastle upon Tyne. There were 10 siblings, of which my great-grandmother, Gertrude, was the 9th (born 1879). They came from Samotschin, Posen, German Empire (modern-day Szamocin, Poznan, Poland). Their parents were Simon and Julia Elkan: Julia died in Newcastle in 1919, aged about 80. Are we related?

My name is Raymond Fuller. My mother was a Elkins born in Wyoming County WV in or about 1926, an orphaned at a very young age. I am trying to locate information on Stanley Elkins father or Elizabeth Elkins mother
the name "Mandy" was also at one time.

Any help would be wonderful.

I am reesearching the Elkins family in Louisiana. I find 3 John Elkins in the late 1800's all born in Alabama. All settled in or around Union Parish Louisiana.

Hello, "My" Elkins were in Newcastle on Tyne, England in the 2nd half of the Nineteenth Century and into the Twentieth. Their name was sometimes spelled Elkan. I know very little about them. By the 1880s three children of Simon Elkin were in the UK but I'm not sure if he was with them. Simon seems to have died before 1888. Paulina b. 1860, Bernard b. 1863 and Regina b 1870 were all born in Germany. Paulina seems to have been from Kolmar. In Newcastle they married into the Friedmann and Asher families. There may be links with families in the USA but I am not sure of details.
