My Dutch ancestors came to West Michigan from Goes and Friesland in 1848 with surnames Benjaminse and VandenBosch and later on the Decker and Van Dyke families. I found the site www.zeeuwengezocht.nl very helpful in tracing their ancestors.

My Dutch ancestors came from Zeeland. Mainly surnames Van Parijs/Van Price, Krebbeks. After that they seem to be traced into Belgium.

The Dutch lines I'm following are much more recent - Breitner, Rapmund, Vriezelaar, Herwehe, Douma, Hendriks, Gortmans, Barth, Jaeger, Girod, Soest. I have found GenLias to be a goldmine.

My Dutch immigrant ancestor was Jan Mangelse, son of Mangel Rol. Jan came to Beverwyck (Albany), New Netherlands (New York) in 1655. The family became known as the Roll family in subsequent generations.

My Dutch ancestors were among the early settlers of New York and New Jersey in the 1600s and intermarried with French, German, Norwegian lines. Surnames include v.d.Poel (Vanderpool); Ver Plank, De Hooges, Post, Weibling, Vinje, Bradt and Cueviller. I enjoy reading about New Netherland and hope to learn more about these families.

My ancestors came through Holland, stayed for a few generations, then went on to America in 1634...they were settlers of Niew Amsterdam (later became New York).
Among their names are: DeForest, DeCoursey (Corsi/Corsa/Corsaw/Corszen, etc.), Van Oblinis, Decker, Van Garden, Cray, Van Campen, Christiaens, and Gerrits.
